New Smyrna Beach, Florida

New Smyrna Beach is located on the Central East Coast of Florida. My family stopped there one February afternoon and went to the beach. I wasn’t there to take pictures of the wildlife but I did get to snap a few. New Smyrna has some beautiful beaches with many birds such as Terns, Gulls, Sandpipers, Pelicans and others. We also saw a large Gopher Tortoise.

The Brown Pelican is a year round resident for most of Florida, primarily on the East and West Coast. The Brown Pelican will fly slowly over the water at about 10 to 15 feet then fold back its wings and go headfirst into the water for a meal, fun to watch.
